Droid X Apps
My new Droid X computer/phone can do some amazing
things for such a small piece of equipment and the basic Droid X apps it comes
with help you set up your computer/phone to get you started using it. These apps will provide you the ability to use practical useful
information to streamline your everyday life. They will
also offer you a diverse selection of entertainment. You just need to decide
what you need and how you want to set your computer/phone up to make your life
as efficient as possible.
The Home Screen of the Droid X computer/phone is
wider than average phones. You can swipe your finger to the left or right
across the main Home Screen and the screen will slide over to a new page each
time you swipe the screen. The Home Screen will extend out to three
different screens in each direction for a total of seven Home Screens.
All of this extra Home Screen room gives you more space to place all the
Droid X apps and widgets that you find yourself using regularly. Each
screen of the Home Screen can only hold a certain amount of apps (short for
application or another word for software). Before you move apps from the Applications
Tray to the Home Screens check all of them out to see which ones you want to
move to the Home Screens. The icons won't disappear from the Application
Tray after you move them to the Home Screen but having your most used apps on
the Home Screens makes access faster (especially after you start adding more
apps to the Applications Tray).
The initial supply of apps
that came with your computer/phone are really cool. But most of us have
other interests that we would like to add to our Applications Tray. Where
do we find these extra applications? Go to the Market App in your App
Tray or on the Main Home Screen. The screen that comes up will allow you
to browse for apps, games, or special apps from Verizon by touching the icon of
the type of apps you want to begin browsing through. There are thousands
and thousands of apps to browse through!! You can also touch the Search
for Apps icon on the screen (the Magnifying Glass) and search for other kinds
of apps not listed on the screen. You'll also notice that you have a
selection of apps that are free and others that you need to pay for. Prices
will vary.
It's absolutely amazing how many applications
there are to choose from. I'm looking forward to figuring out how to
watch television shows on my computer/phone. I have to prepare for any
road trips that might come up. Research through the thousands of Droid X
apps will keep us all busy for a long time to come. How exciting!!
